A landslide in Levanger on August last year caused a partial closure of the Nordland Line between Åsen and Levanger. The track is expected to be repaired by June 22th 2026.
Railway disruption and changes to onboard services
The railway line between Åsen and Levanger is still closed.
In addition, maintenance work on the railway in May and June may cause delays and changes to train services.
Please also note that daytime departures on the Nordland Line are currently operated with a different type of train than usual. As a result, the following services are not available on these departures:
- Café
- Family carriage
- Premium Pluss
You may bring food and drinks aboard during this time. A vending machine with warm beverages, cold drinks and light snacks is available.
From June 29th, the regular trains will return, and the café, family carriage and Premium Pluss will once again be available. In the café you will once again be able to purchase larger warm meals, cold dishes, snacks, sweets and beverages.
All trains run between Steinkjer and Bodø. Please notice that due to disruptions on the Nordland line, trains do not have a café carriage, a family carriage or Premium Pluss. Rail replacement buses operate between Steinkjer and Trondheim.
We recommend our passengers traveling on the Nordland line to bring a meal on the train. Vending machines with both warm beverages, drinks and light snacks are however available aboard.
The following departures are cancelled and are run by rail replacement buses:
- Mo i Rana kl. 0811 – Trondheim S kl. 1413
- Trondheim kl. 1600 – Mo i Rana kl. 2248
The night train is cancelled with no rail replacement until further notice.
From June 29th:
The Nordland line will re-open in its entirety from June 29th, and the trains will come with a café carriage, family carriage and Premium Pluss once again.
The Trønder line north for Trondheim is part of the Nordland line.
In the months of May and June there are traffic disruptions on the line, due to maintenance work on the railway tracks. From June 29th the line will operate as normal.
