The Meråker railway is currently undergoing electrification work by Bane NOR. Due to the nature of this project there will be no train departures on the Meråker railway from August 15th 2024 and up to and including January 31st 2025. During this time there will be a bus replacement between Trondheim and Storlien. Tickets for the bus replacement can be purchased at Entur as per usual.
We highly recommend that you visit Entur’s travel planner if you would like to check bus departures between Trondheim and Storlien during this time.
The electrification of the Meråker and the Trønder railway will allow for more environmentally friendly and modern electric trains, with a much higher passenger capacity, as well as a smoother transfer to ohter trains at the Swedish border.
Please refrain from walking on the railway tracks
We would like to remind you that in Norway it is strictly forbidden to trespass on the railway tracks unless you are at a designated crossing. Even when the passenger traffic is stopped, there can come other trains on work-related situations at any given time and without warning. For your own safety, never wander near the train tracks.
